Abstract Poor female heads of households face all kinds of difficulties and many problems on the path to wellbeing. In this article, we have studied the interdisciplinary study of three female heads of households in one of the deprived neighborhoods of Khorramabad city with the aim of understanding how poor female heads of households experience wellbeing and the obstacles and challenges associated with it through portraiture methodology. Data were collected using purposive and theoretical sampling strategies and through in-depth interviews and field notes in two health centers. We then analyzed the data to identify the main themes and create the final portraits of the participants. Based on the findings, various economic, social, cultural and psychological resources of the participants provide the ground for the realization or non-realization of achievements such as increasing life satisfaction, reducing the overload of the role, and increasing children's satisfaction. It can be determined. As a result, each participant expresses a different experience of wellbeing, despite the commonalities they share. They use a variety of strategies in the pursuit of wellbeing and have different levels of internal and external resources to achieve this goal. Every woman, as a social human being, has her own unique experience that influences her choices and strategies in overcoming obstacles to wellbeing.

Abstract Qualitative research is increasingly gaining more legitimacy and acceptance in contemporary Iranian social sciences. Clarifying the trajectories of methodology is a way to understand the impacts of historical, social and political contexts on the development of social knowledge. The current paper aims to trace the developments of qualitative social inquiry as a genre tied with literal traditions in contemporary history. The proposed argument is that the methodological shifts in Iran have been affected by the process of social differentiation, encounter with western social science achievements and science policies both inside and outside of university. On the other hand, the complexity and multi layered nature of qualitative research require a serious attention to its historical roots. The paper ends with a brief evaluation of opportunities and constraints of qualitative research in Iran and a picture of its future prospects.

Abstract The ontological, epistemological, methodological and methodical are the four aspects of research and of knowledge. Each aspect is significant in its own right, and all are interdependent. In the research literature, particular problems are expected to arise, for instance, conceptual separation of ontology from epistemology bears its own specific question. The word methodology is also often carelessly used and that researchers use research methods without knowing much about their self-agreed ontological and epistemological assumptions. All these issues accentuate the need for clarification of the methods, methodology, ontology, and epistemology. This study is based on a theoretical approach. During the data collection the aforementioned four aspects have been conceptualized and synthesized. Having referred to the extensive literature in this area, we have tried to determine the importance of these aspects and their relevance to one another in qualitative researches. The findings show that the methodology and methods can never be selected in any way apart from the ontological and epistemological positions. Different situations of ontology and epistemology produce different methodology and methods that ultimately lead to knowledge about the social world.
